The primary responsibility of a Film Editor centers on the process of editing the film. This is a distinct function separate from the roles involved in casting actors, designing audio, or managing lighting, which are vital to the production but focus on different aspects of the filmmaking process. Each of those roles is integral to project development but does not encapsulate the core duty of editing the film itself.
